Frequently asked

Everything you might want to know.

Quick answers to the questions families ask us most often. Can't find what you're looking for? We're always just a message away.

Getting started

Do I need a referral to book a consultation?
No referral is required. You can book a consultation directly with our team — call, email, or use our contact form and we'll guide you through the next step.
What happens at the first visit?
The first session is an initial assessment. We'll listen to your concerns, ask questions, and begin to understand what's needed. Based on that, we recommend the right specialist team and design a starting plan with you.
How long is a typical therapy session?
Most therapy sessions run 45 to 60 minutes. Initial assessments can be longer — up to 90 minutes — depending on the discipline involved.
What should I bring to the first visit?
Any previous medical reports, assessments, or school/work feedback that might be relevant — and yourself or your child, of course. If there's anything specific that's been on your mind, feel free to jot it down before you come in.

For families

Do you work with adults as well as children?
Yes. Zest provides a full range of rehabilitation and mental health services for adults — including post-stroke speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychological counseling.
What age groups do you support?
We work with individuals at every stage of life — from early childhood through adolescence and adulthood. Our multidisciplinary team adapts its approach to the age and needs of each person.
How do you track progress?
Every plan comes with clear, measurable goals — and our team reviews progress together at regular intervals. Parents and family members are closely involved in these reviews, and plans evolve as new milestones are reached.
Will I work with multiple therapists?
Often yes — depending on the plan. The benefit of Zest is that our specialists share notes and meet together, so you're always working with one coordinated team rather than several disconnected providers.
Can family members be part of sessions?
Family involvement is welcome and often encouraged — we coach parents and partners alongside therapy work so the progress built at the hub continues at home.
